Oxalis
europa. Optimistic.
The upright Oxalis
or yellow sorrel has spread as a weed in towns and villages throughout Europe
and Asia. From an underground creeping stem, the solitary erect stems produce
small clusters of yellow, five-petalled flowers, followed by large cylindrical
capsules with many seeds. The Oxalis
uses its roots to good advantage to maintain its presence and ensure survival.
An optimistic
person is disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to
