A - Z Challenge - O

The reflection of British wildflowers in emotions.
---------------------
Oxalis europa.  Optimistic.

The upright Oxalis or yellow sorrel has spread as a weed in towns and villages throughout Europe and Asia. From an underground creeping stem, the solitary erect stems produce small clusters of yellow, five-petalled flowers, followed by large cylindrical capsules with many seeds. The Oxalis uses its roots to good advantage to maintain its presence and ensure survival.

An optimistic person is disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome. Some funny quotes about optimism

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank.

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Winston Churchill.

“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” Oscar Wilde.

Proverb: Nothing venture, nothing gain.

  3. Oh so that's what that's called! I've always known that species by it's more common name: "plant". Sorry, it's the city boy in me. When I'm in the wilderness it's usually in a cave. Spelunking: admiring the great outdoors while not being able to see the sky!

  5. I'm an optimist too. This oxalis seems to be looking out of it's surrounding of leaves optimistically hoping it'll get some sunshine on it's pretty petals.

  6. That is really pretty for a weed. We should really admire the resilience of weeds. Love the quotes.

    1. Haha. Weeds are simple plants we don't want to grow in a certain place.

    1. How interesting. I guess plants develop different characteristics for various parts of the world just like animals.
